The Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization, Inc.

The Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization, Inc. (PHILFOODEX), was founded in 1986, is the leading food industry association in the Philippines. Our principal functions are:


  • To foster unity, closer relationship, understanding and cooperation among its members to be able to harness their collective resources toward the development of the Philippine food domestic and/or export market;

  • To encourage its members to process and/or export food in accordance with the standards acceptable to local and international market;

  • To encourage an in-depth study of the industry problems among its members through conferences, open forums and panel discussions thereby making the organization an effective unified voice for the food export industry;

  • To make representations with legislative and regulatory agency as well as with private entities on matters affecting food processing and/or export of processed food; and
  • To undertake research and collate pertinent data from Government and private entities for dissemination to its members for better understanding of matters affecting the (food) industry.

  • All these with the end view of achieving world class stature for Philippine food products. We represent various segments of the food industry, and are the single and recognized voice of food manufacturers and exporters in the country. It is vital that the food industry be united for the well-being of all. Those with similar activities and concerns are welcome to join the Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization, Inc.     Founded in 1986, as a non-stock, non-profit organization, by a progressive group of food entrepreneurs, the Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization, Inc. (PHILFOODEX) is the leading food industry association in the Philippines, composed of micro, small, medium and large scale food manufacturers and exporters. The membership was broadened to include active membership from allied industries.

    We represent a major portion of the country's processed food sector, and our list of processors is impressive, including that of fruits, vegetables (fresh and processed), coffee, marine, wine, and food specialty items.

    PHILFOODEX focuses in the planning, development and sourcing of raw materials, on research and technology development of world class quality food products, on the improvement of manufacturing efficiency and productivity, and the promotion of sound trade practices in order for its members to be competitive and responsive on the changing international food trends.

    PHILFOODEX enjoys the unique privilege of working closely with government and private industry cycles on critical issues that affect the Philippine food sector to ensure that the industry achieve global competitiveness and excellence, to help the government in its thrust on food security and abundance and in achieving and sustaining the country's inclusive economic growth.

    Philippine agricultural exports have been an essential driver in the agriculture sector and constantly played a prominent role in the economy by providing foreign exchange earnings and additional economic activities. Its contribution of US$2,166.91 million FOB value to the national Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 1980 has significantly grown to US$4,101.08 million in 2010, growing at an annual average rate of 9.66%.

  • To be internationally renowned Philippine organization which adopts and promotes best practices that will contribute to environmentally sustainable businesses, enhancing competitiveness in the local and global market to benefit members, employees, consumers, stakeholders and the community we operate.

    To be the single recognized voice of and support of our members in all matters (Legislative, Regulatory, Marketing, Promotions and R&D), affecting their competitiveness, that result in the betterment and viability of the Philippine food industry.

  • Working closely with government to enable members to achieve global competitiveness.
  • Continual monitoring of proposed legislation and regulations that may impact our members.
  • Ensuring our collective interests are represented in all legislative and regulatory matters, including being pro-active to improve key issues such as exchange rate, taxation, energy and workers' compensation.
  • Providing marketing opportunities and the sharing of best practices among members, such as sustainability and corporate responsibility.
  • Providing timely informational on pertinent activities and support services to the membership.
  • Assist members in their technology, raw material, financing, and other requirements.
  • Promote closer coordination among members with farmers, processors, exporters and other stakeholders to achieve competitiveness.
  • Actively seeking membership of the entire Philippine food industry.

    Memorandum of Agreement Between PHILFOODEX and KOIMA

    PHILFOODEX President, Mr. Roberto C. Amores signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Korean Importers Association (KOIMA) represented by its Chairman and CEO Mr. Tae-Yong Shinn. This agreement have pave a solid foundation for a closer and more practical cooperation between the two (2) countries by newly signing said MOA which highlights the setting of Philippine-Korea Bilateral Enterprise Business Council. This MOA promises to establish a more productive relationship between the two (2) organizations.

    PHILFOODEX General Membership Meeting

    The Philippine Food Processors and Exporters Organization Inc. (PHILFOODEX) recently held its first (1st) General Membership Meeting (GMM) for 2013 last Tuesday, 23 April 2013. We With the Theme: "Sustainable Food Business, One of the Key Drivers of the Philippine Economy", and we have invited Dr. Jesusa Joyce Cirunay, OIC Food Regulation and Research of FDA, who gave updates about the latest development and programs of FDA. We have also invited Mr. Jovel Cipriano, Founder and CEO of PinoyDelikasi.com, and he discussed the best practices in E-Commerce which are critical areas on the development and sustainability of food businesses.

    We are also proud to introduce six (6) new member-companies who were inducted during the first (1st) PHILFOODEX General Membership Meeting (GMM) for 2013, and they are, starting from the left: DONNA'S DRIED-FISH AND SEAFOODS; FCG TRADING PHILIPPINES, INC; GRACIAS FOODS2 INCORPORATED; SINLIKAS IMPORT-EXPORT PACKAGING INC; TROPICANA FOOD PRODUCTS, INC. and MY PHILIPPINES LIFESTYLE.
